Josefina “Siping” Barut Visaya, 60, of Keaau died Sept. 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 6, 1951, in Isabela, Philippines, she was employed at Puna Certified Nursery as a landscaper and member of the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. An all-night vigil follows at the family residence in Keaau. Friends may call at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a noon Mass. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Cenon Visaya of Keaau; son, Fred (Rowena) Visaya Sr. of Keaau; daughters, Marylou (Gener) Viernes and Genalyn (Elvin) Ulep, both of Keaau; sister, Cristina Gumaru of Philippines; three grandsons; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
